What are you backing Today?

Very disappointed with Master of the Seas today.

Seemed to me he pulled too hard early and paid the price at the finish.

Maybe not running him for 2 months wasn’t a great idea as he may have been less fresh not that I’m any expert

Me too, looked as though he was coming to win it easily, then just folded. One of a number of top horses that failed to deliver their running this w/e.

I think I backed most of them.

Sottsass beaten by Armoury
One Voice beaten further today than she was against Love and Fancy Blue
Port Guillaume nowhere.

All 10f+ races.

I am seriously thinking of prioritising mile and shorter races next year. More consistency and fewer Galileo bastards like Mogul.

Just watched it back, and off a slowish pace, he was swamped by speedier horses. Wouldn't be writing him off for the Dewhurst on the strength of that run, though.

Not a great deal of pace in the 4.05 Bath, and worth a small investment on Walk On Walter 14/1 generally,to pinch it from the front (as he did last year) from his low draw.

Daschas 3.45Y loves fast ground and, is the current record holder for this C&D.
Major chance,imo 6/1 B365 & Hills.

Desert

Having thwarted you by ducking the Logician challenge Zaaki is running at Sandown 3.55 today - down in class a tad, too.

Had a look. Surprised to see 13/2 but once I looked through the others I saw why the Hamdan horse is favourite. It's hard to get away from him.

Prince Des Sable2.20 Ponte was a close 4th in a good listed race over C&D last August, ridden in her usual attacking style. She's racently moved to David O'Meara who tries her in a first-time hood.
Worth a small ew @ Betfair's18/1 to see if it works the oracle.

Not much of a price but probably still value at 5/2, Cormier (5.35 Ayr) is officially 7lbs well in and could easily go off at 6/4.

Price has gone now but Bodyline was 7/2 for the 3.10 at Yarmouth when betting opened yesterday afternoon. Ground much more suitable than it was in the Melrose

Dance To Paris 3.10Y is usually a pace horse, but her trainer fitted her with a visor latest, and she was held up in the rear and finished quite well when released.
Dropped in trip today, the visor back on and Wm Buick back in the saddle, I expect a livelier performance today.
12/1 B365

Stylehunter in the 2.30 at Newbury. This horse pretty much started fav for the John Smith's last year after an eye catching run in the Hunt Cup but he was tardy from the gate and never got competitive from a bad draw. He joined Crisford from Gosden and ran three times In meydan over the winter. Now, he bled in the last of those but again was eye catching over 12f in the second. Away slowly he was detached early and circled the whole field with a good finish to get third. There wasn't a pace collapse either - the Godolphin that won led throughout.

Back over here he was a non factor on the aw last month (the race was run at a crawl and he was never in it). At 10s/12s today I'm interested as there's no question he's well treated.

I think I'll join you, Euro. I got a tracker alert for it last night but couldn't be arsed to check the more recent form so you've done that for me :)

I'm slowly coming out of my depression after the bronze cup.i had a good bet on sounds of iona and watched it drift from 16s to 50s and never broke sweat and finished stone last.
Tomorrow I hope I get a better run from mine.
GOLDEN APOLLO silver cup
And
SPANISH CITY gold cup.on its run in the wokingham off the same mark and a top apprentice I will be disappointed if this cant get in the first 7 (skybet) 18/1

Aplomb (Silver Cup) has an excellent record over 6f, when there is sft in the going (5124111). His latest run can be forgiven, as he was outpaced over the 5f before being baulked at the diistance.
20/1 5 places, Betfair

I like to play the short term ap markets half in the hope a race will cut up and leave me with good ew terms. Not that it did much good with Sottsass last week.

I backed Lazuli for the sprint at Newbury early in the week, 5/1 ew for three places. Only seven line up and it's a hodge podge of shite really. Equilateral never wins and Tis Marvellous doesn't score outside of Ascot. The selection was behind the latter in the Charge at Sandown but he went too hard up front and TM was flattered imo in coming from the rear. Lazuli ran ok at Deauville after that over 6 but he is better at the minimum trip. Wise Words is worth cover after a good run in the Scarborough.

Rhythm Master is too big at 11/4 for the Mill Reef. He brings good Group 1 form to the table and should be nearer 6/4

Hope you're right about Lazuli, Euro, He's my nap of the day. Found Sandown too stiff a test on his latest run there (easy lead, first time up) and will appreciate this flatter track.
11/4 B365.
Much the same logic applies to Tenbury Wells in the 2.15
7/2 B365.
In the 1.20 at Ayr Heights Of Abraham is proven on soft ground, while those shorter in the market aren't.
7/1 generally.
Luck to all.
