What a fantastic way to finish your career.
I absolutely admire him for what he has achieved.
First 7 yr old for donkeys years.

Yeah he’s been x country schooling just up the road from me..... I followed the horsebox back into Taunton the other day. And he goes out twice a day as he is so stuffy. Actually Polly is married to Ed Walker who had the horse as a youngster and won his point to point with him so obvious to take him back there.

We did better than most Jinny gotta be pleased with that:p

Some way to bow out. Fantastic for the Waley-Cohens

Bogstar 1940.
First novice since Rule The World and Mr What.
Always said you could back Sam blind around Aintree but did not listen to my guide dog today !
Great race, great ride.
happy retirement Sam.

Only made his debut over fences in October.Very talented trainer.

Once sat next to SWC on a longish flight. He seemed to be a genuinely warm and pleasant man.(Admittedly, I do have that effect on people, TBF)

I interviewed Sam and his father at Larkhill in the fog and they really are lovely people. Very generous and very supportive of Pointing. I didn’t back him today (had 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.... .......told you I was doing a DO!) but am so thrilled for them.

I lost a small fortune on the race but Mrs O and Orchidette, along with one of my nieces, were on the winner so happy scenes in the Orchid household.

So glad - no offence, Slim - that ASN didn't win. That would have been a nightmare for me.

Well you can’t knock the winner at all, but you’ve got to feel for Any Second Now. That’s two tremendous runs for no coconut and I doubt he’ll come again.

What a great story and a great end to his racing career. Hard for ASN and connections.
Hope all horses and jockeys all okay, a lot of fallers, one obviously being treated behind screens. (I've only just watched it after doing my muppet )
Thought some of the commentary was severely lacking at points though. Some never got a mention.

Well done Santini backers as well -honestly didn't think he would get round so ran a blinder.

Mention for Davey Russell helping with the winner's tack etc. True sportsman.

Probably the toughest beat I've ever had. Was on the 2nd for 12K.

I feel for you Slim how that's won I'll never know short jumping career but riddled with poor jumps yet rocks up in the Nash. Some people are just blessed Sam Cohen is one of those people. Fall in **** and he'd find a fiver.
