Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Douvan won't be ready for the Dublin Racing Festival but still a possible for Cheltenham and/or Punchestown festivals
 
What a shame; so much talent in a horse that will probably never now fulfil his true potential.
Yes, and unfortunately Ruth Jefferson's cautiousness has come back and bitten. He's hardly had a race in his life (13 races in 5 seasons!!!), and as you say Moe, he's now highly unlikely to ever fulfill his potential.

After a typically thoughtful run at Lingfield ( 8 fences ( I think) and “oh look, there’s where I go back in - I must have finished so shall pull myself up now”) raisin has gone to live with a very good friend of mine to hopefully do some eventing.
Seems I’m better at making flicky toed ( or should that be toad !!!) dressage ponies than I am racehorses...
