Our syndicate horse Simpson Millar is declared to run in the 4.30 on Sunday at Ayr. The going is expected to be soft so Noel Wilson thinks the better option is to go for the shorter race rather than wait for the 7 furlongs on Monday. Sunday's race is a 0 - 60 against Monday's which is 0 - 65 and theoretically Monday would be a little bit harder anyway.

Simpson is due to carry 8 stone 11 but he has a 5 lb claimer on board so will only have 8 st 6.

Noel Wilson has said he seems very fit and keen so that is why he is bringing him out quickly. He has never run on ground as soft as we are expecting but provided that does not inconvenience him too much, we are hopeful he will be in the frame.

On a personal note his action says top of the ground to me, so I hope I'm wrong but I'll be backing him 20/80 with fingers crossed.

Trainer has said he will check the forecast in the morning and if the ground is bottomless he won't make the journey as he doesn't want to risk the horse getting injured again.

Good luck SC.

I took a look at the race last night and noticed Orientor's sire stats for 3yo's over todays conditions is 3/3, so surprised to see New Lease Of Life drift out to 6/1.

I will be be on both.

3rd at 20/1 opened 33/1 and I got 7/1 place on betfair - looks like there may be a glimmer of ability yet :D

Royal Scoundrel running at Worcester tonight . Barring the bounce effect should run well

I don't know how, but I missed this? Just seen it and what a great run, how gutted would I have been had he won after singing his praises for 3 years+ Onwards and Upwards Roddy. :) What's his nickname?

We will go for the first race at MR on Summer Plate Day 21/july. Be a good hurdle race for him and we have won it before. Probably run Bally in the Summer Plate also. Although it is 3 hours plus away I love this meeting and I think we have won the plate a few times now. How many before you get to keep it?

Bally in the Summer Plate :adore:

Sov Debt runs tomorrow Newmarket. Looked a little unlucky in the Jersey but we know that's no certainty for improvement. Stepping him up in trip to 1m as I'm keen to see if he truly stays I think he will. Obviously reasonably stiff finish at July course but tends to help hold up horses so I'm hoping for a big run. Looks like we have Gabrial to beat if he runs. Fingers crossed.

Good luck Lawrie - are you not worried about his course form? I think he may be an Ascot specialist, should be 3 from 3 there. I hope wins easy for you.

He's only run the once on July course and that was ok so not too worried. At the time he had 3 quick runs as well so 4th too much. With the 2 out now think he'll be tough to beat

Good luck Lawrie :)

On The Bridle's Copper Dock ran well in the opener at Dundalk, finish well and only just beaten by the well backed Calm Bay with the pair of them clear of the remainder.

I found it interesting that form with Tidentime gave you 2 lengths in hand of Gabrial..who didn't run..i wondered if that was the reason why... rather than the ground..fancied yours a lot once i saw this
