Forum horse connections

I've been to Warwick today for Supreme Quest's second start. She put in a good run, making most until headed well inside the final furlong. The winner is highly-regarded and the first three finished some way clear so I'm hopeful it might have been an above-average race for the track. Steve Drowne was pleased with her, said she really tried for him and although she'll stay six he said she'd be effective back over a stiff five.

It was blamed on a woman making tsking noises on the parade ring rails. I was nowhere near the premises, officer.

Happens all the bloody time - or at least it did, in my day! There was nothing that made you want to rip someone's head off more than some prick by the paddock clicking on a horse that was pulling your arms out and you were trying to settle down. What these clowns don't realise is that you're out there 45 minutes leading that round, having your shoulders wrenched out. Of course it was always a case that you'd just get them to settle for a few strides then one of these knobends would start their clicking them on.

A 1st and a 2nd today. Congratulations to both of you. Here's hoping they come out of their races ok.

Sail Home's second win already this year, GS, and fourth time in the frame from five runs. You have to be well pleased with that.

Gus, I see that the Sporting Life reports a few serious enough bets on the 1st and 3rd in your race, so it might be a reasonable race.

Great stuff, Gus 'n' Gamla! Very happy for both of you. Was at the dogs this evening and my friend's good and well-fancied little bitch got cartwheeled on a turn (came back okay), so nothing is ever for certain. Just great when it does go right!

The handlers should've told the parade ring marshall to tell her to stop or have her removed. They're employed to ensure the jockeys mount and the horses leave the ring on schedule, but they're also there to ensure parade ring safety. She was not contributing to the safety aspect - in fact, was encouraging the horse's misbehaviour. If he'd lashed out and caught someone badly, it would've been her fault. That's how feckin dumb this is.

If he's looking in - which I'm sure he is - I'm sure Lord Hartigan would be dead chuffed to see that it hadn't escaped everyone on the forum that his Night Frolic is now the dam of a Musidora winner......if it's any consolation it's a horrible beast, ugly with a big head that it carries high and awkwardly, and it tried everything to get out of winning last time at Sandown. It tried similar tactics today at York as well.

Night Frolic had one win from 11 starts, career winnings of £7.5k in prize money, and was never rated higher than 61. It seems remarkable that such a moderate mare could produce such a big winner?

Yes, Luke, just got a text from Lord H:

"You can add to this that Night Frolic was the 2-y-o filly that John Hills chose for us out of two on offer from the Duke of Roxburghe. He turned down the other one on our behalf because her front legs went all over the place when she walked (and when she ran). It didn't stop her winning ten races, of which five were Group 1s,including the 1,000 Guineas, the Irish 1,000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes. She was, of course, Attraction. Night Frolic won one race - at Kempton on heavy 'which she didn't act on'. She was 14/1 and we didn't have a penny on!".

You just have to laugh.:lol::lol:

That's not a text - that's an essay!

Lord Harters was never the same after that. I believe he was last sighted in a stained dressing-gown, five-day stubble, and scuffed tartan slippers, giggling to the post and bin men who serviced Hartigan Hall that he "couldn't see the attraction", lapsing into uncontrollable sobs, and having to be escorted back inside by a rather stern-looking nurse. Tragic, truly tragic.

Totally fucking shambolic balls from Hills. The horse likes pace, but Hills managed to put him behind five lines of others. Looked as if he might try to squirm him up the rail but then let him drift off that behind the pack, totally disappointing a trying horse. FAREER was having his teeth pulled out after the line. Hills = wanker. Dunlop = wanker II.
