Forum horse connections

Thank you,Yes great performance really (7/1 this morning ),and also a great run by Santamina. The boys are back. Plus Tout Regullier. Just need Ballyvesey tomorrow to top off a great weekend.

Very well done, RO, that's a lovely result. I see TOUT REGULIER's owned by GA Moore - is that, by any chance, the elderly Irish gent, George Moore, who's a big friend of Mike George's (ex-owner of IDLE TALK)?

Roddy has put a lot of money into horseracing, as have a lot of the owners on here, and deserves his success. Well done.

Managed to catch up a bit with the latest Pacemaker/TBA/ROA mag, whatever it's now called and there's a nice Q & A piece in there with our KAUTO !

Such film star good looks - I'd imagined someone middle-aged and greying! I wondered where the horses' names might've come from, and now am much better informed. Very nice article, Kauto, and I don't know about Bill and Ben (or whatever they are) - I think you ought to be the 'new' face of racing. I'm going to suggest Rod Street gets you on board Racing for Change!

... but surely Kirsten's backed up by the TetraPak billions, isn't she? Doesn't that make any woman look glowingly gorgeous?

BALLYVESEY... any minute now... blimey! Well, that certainly gave him a nice 2nd instead of a 3rd. Thought he went round very nicely indeed - a wee bit surprised by the water, but otherwise no probs. Well done - not much of the forum's been out of the frame so far.

Unlucky Mr Owen sure he'll come on for the experience in time - some very novicey jumps cost him any chance - he will only improve - good luck.

Just like to wish my good friend Ray all the best with Flores Sea at Wolverhampton on Tuesday - he often jokes with me that he owns the ears of this horse as part of a large syndicate. Flores Sea has turned out to be a specialist 7f Southwell horse and tries an extended mile at Wolverhampton in a seller and is tissue fav with Sporting Life, so looks to have a chance, but wont be seeing my money. The syndicate are having a get together their as well but Ray can't make it due to work commitments, which is a great shame, but money can't buy the smile on this mans face when Flores Sea wins or places - so good luck to all connected, I'll be cheering you on.

Well done, Roddy, nice to see.

I know what you mean, Chef, because that's what it's like for me too when one of "mine" does well.

He's a nice little fellow, too, Chef - really loves his Midlands AW courses and has a fine record of wins and places. I hope your friend enjoys another good run from him - when you have such an honest horse, it's a real pleasure to turn up at the track as you know that you'll always get a nice effort for your training fees.

He loves it - it's almost like the working class boy made good scenario - he always says, I can't believe I part own a horse and live in a private flat by the river Thames - he's living the dream - I'll ask him next time if he has any photos - sure he will have - not technically minded to know how to post them but I have two teenage daughters who do it all the time - so no problem. If Flores Sea wins or places today - he'll be in my office in the evening waving his £10 e/way betting slip in my face saying did you back it - my horse won - with a huge smile on his face - I'll wind him up saying you didn't tell me it was running (he hasn't stopped talking about it for 3 days):lol:

Enjoying your horse (or small bit of it!) running and doing the best it can is what having them is all about, surely ? It's great to hear of the high class successes of some of them on here but just as good to hear about those honest handicappers that race on year in, year out and do the job so professionally.

Lovely story, Chef - yes, do ask your girls to pop a photo up on here if they would. I've seen the horse on tv several times, but not in the flesh as he doesn't grace Lingfield - tell the horse it's got less sting than Southwell's kickback, so to ask his master to run him there some time!

I love our course horses at Brighton and Lingfield - their owners are so enthusiastic, and it's great to see the horses always enjoying the races themselves. Brighton, as we know, isn't a one-size-fits-all course, so it's good to hear when this or that horse 'loves a tricky track' and is bored senseless by flat, galloping ones. Their owners know the horse will be interested in getting stuck in and doing his or her best for them. When we see them turning up, still going strong past 7, 8, 10 and even at 12, it's thoroughly heart-warming. It's also a testament to the durability of the Thoroughbred provided it isn't wrecked young, soundness in the pedigree, and good training regimes.

Well today wasn't his day but he ran his usual honest race - sure he'll be found a 7f race at Southwell soon and as for Ray the smile wont be as big but he'll still be smiling and looking forward to the next run.

Photo's

Ray has sent me 3 photos of Flores Sea and John Manleys daughter has sent me about 5 all in my e-mail - Ray's are copied and pasted and Dick Turpin's are in document form - thats as much as I know, so as soon as I can get the attention of my teenage daughter I will post them up. This could take a few days

Please dont try and explain how I should do it --- it will be lost on me :surrender:

Run TT'S Dream at Newmarket on Thursday. I would be surprised if he is up to this, but I doubt he'll disgrace himself.

I requested permission to put the Dick Turpin pictures up - but because of some watermarks there may be a copyright issue - but John Manleys daughter Laura kindly sent this message and a French Photography online site to visit.
I also told connections about all your goodwill messages for D.T.

Dear David,

Thank you for your enthusiasm and kind words. It was an absolute dream come true for my father and indeed for all of us. He is the most beautiful animal and if you could have seen him in the paddock at Chantilly you too would have been impressed. He was definitely ready to do something!! As you can see from the photos he shines so much you need sunglasses! He also seems to have a lovely calm disposition especially when greeted with eager owners’ kisses and hugs and, as you can see, even Richard Hughes was moved to plant one on him!!

Regarding the photographs, they were forwarded to us and have a watermark on them for copyright reasons and the couple that do not have a mark on were sent to me on trust by a photographer that approached Steve at the track. I am sure as long as the photos are not published publicly it would be fine to show them to your friends. There are more fabulous ones on www.scoopdyga.com (French photography site), if you want to take a look.

Regards,

Laura
