Sorry lads, thought the forum was down today. Thanks for posting. Maybe this is something we can try and organise a bit better.

i'll take part whenever - i'm sure a few others will too

its interesting not seeing a tissue beforehand..its quite scary:)

It's a lot of fun doing them blindly. At the back of your mind you know you get one wrong and look stupid. I'm sure the first Irish race I priced up I was 12/1 about a 9/2 winner!

At the prices, I've had to have a small EW bet on Beseech in the 2.30 at 16s with Stan James. I had her at 8s on the basis she should handle the surface given her pedigree and there's not much speed in the race and she looks a plodder who should like Southwell.

I've played Asterisk in the 2.30 at 6/1. Thought the last run was very eye-catching and don't think jockey will end up getting in such a poor position at this track. One of very few in the race that look open to improvement.

Also happy enough with the 7/2 Everymanforhimself. Think his run behind Dubai Hills is worth more than what Conry achieved and still have some doubts over Conry on surface. Small field means he faced little kickback lto. EVerymanforhimself's pair clear with Silaah not looking a bad effort now even if he probably shouldn't have won.

Gearoid - You don't want to look to me for inspiration. I'm paid to study such cards. It's those that make the game pay and do a real job alongside that deserve the credit!

I price 4 or 5 all-weather races up a day too and couldn't have a bet without doing it really.

In that race David, I've had a bit on Follow The Flag at 13/2, had him in at 9/2 myself.

Was generally against him. Thought they went too quick lto and him and Ours picked up the pieces. Wasn't sure this was going to be as well run with only Trans Sonic a genione front runner.

Carnac is my fav..so will have a go on it at 5/1

may take on the 3.35

CONRY 4/1
TRANSONIC 4/1
TEVEZ 9/2
EVERYMAN 5/1
ELUSIVE FAME 8/1
FOLLOW THE FLAG 8/1
GALA CASINO STAR 33/1

Tevez looks a value play in my world at 14/1

Folllow The Flag has a bit of a repuation as a plot horse. I would swerve it when the market is against it. Place lay it even.

Looking through some other threads today and followed with interest the Olazabal bet which lead to the Bar The Bull and Gearoid bet (there's a book in that one) and was drawn yet again to the old "staking plan" chestnut. I generally bet to take a certain amount of money out on each bet therefore my biggest bets are on the skinnier prices which are turning a massive return into only a decent one - my biggest bets are getting turned over. Where do you start with devising a staking plan? Your wisdom would be appreciated!!

Paddy Mullins came back for a cameo role the other day to remind us all of the incident now confined to the "Inspector Wexford Files".
