The Long Shot Thread

Well, I got a right run for my money from Stowaway Magic there. No complaints, even if he maybe did do a fraction too much through the race. Fine margins when the ones that raced not far behind you finish just in front of you.

Pertemps 2:10 Thursday - Taj Badalandabad -Inconsistent type, but talented on his day. He's at the bottom of the handicap. He should never be 40/1. I'm keeping a market check on him to see if he is supported in the betting. I think he could run into a place here, so if anyone's interested get the best each way terms for yourselves. Definately watch the betting too.

Better than the one I got! Well done. River Frost dissapointed, but swiftly moving on...:)

3.30 Ar Mad 33/1 and God's Own 33/1, both w/o Altior.

Both may be in decline - today we find out for sure - but on their best form they have better chances [on my figures] than Special Tiara, Politologue, Charbel and Ordinary World. If one of Douvan or Min blows out...

Oh Min, why couldn't you just have pulled a sickie

One horse who could run a big race at a price in the JLT is Snow Falcon.

He was travelling really well along with Monalee in the same race as Invitation Only but trying to keep tabs on Monalee is a tough ask.

It took it's toll late on but not until the very last fence.

I can see him running a similar race today and more than a few of these have their quirks.

A good solid EW chance at 20 on the machine and would suggest a small wager at 7.8 to be in the first 2

None runner now, but got to agree with everything you said there. Had my eye on him for the World Hurdle last year but doesn't quite stay for me. Had a decent novicd season and will be taking big prices for next year's Ryanair.

2.10 Prime Venture 33/1 and Whataknight 50/1 (6 pl)

4.10 Traffic Fluide 28/1, Ballyalton 20/1 and Shanahan's Turn 66/1 (5 pl)

5.30 Double Ross 40/1

Between Whataknight and Taj Badalandabad we've tipped up the two rank outsiders, Maurice! Fancy a match bet? :)

Lovely jubbly!!

Each way money landed! I got 50s too, which was his true price, (until after the race), where the bookies clip him to 40's just because he gets placed. Penny pinching Jokers.

They did the same with Shattered Love's price after he won. I think its criminal myself. :)

Well done, Marble. Good shout.

Whataknight didn't run badly either, just asked to come from too far back (which I wasn't expecting to see).

Speaking to my brother on the phone this morning I mentioned Prime Venture. I said my worry about him was being ridden out the back and wide. What happens? he gets ridden out the back and wide.

Evan Williams is a one-dimensional tactical dwarf.

Very First Time in the last race, (Kim Muir). This is quite simply, a mental price on 33/1 for each way purposes. He's a young, unexposed chaser who I reckon can run a huge race, against the older and exposed types which there are loads of. A bit of market support would increase my confidence, (I've no idea why he's the price he is)..

I keep a list of horses that did well at last years festival and forgot to back Missed Approach. A suitable name, I suppose but very annoying [I seem to miss one handicap winner each year by not being thorough enough].

Hoping my final darts will throw up a 170 finish for the meeting.

County: Mohaayed 33/1 and All Set To Go 125/1

Albert Bartlett: Ballyward 22/1

Martin Pipe: Dream Berry 28/1 and Discorama 40/1

Grand Annual: Eastlake 40/1

Well done DO.

Just trying to find who put this up
Think it was Danny so although i did whisky sour at 25s i had £3 win on mohayyeed after reading Danny thanks mate

Martin Pipe: Dream Berry 28/1 and Discorama 40/1

Discorama should have won that. Ridiculously over-confident out-the-back ride.

My bets in the race:

½ pt win Blow By Blow 14/1 (1st); ½ pt win Early Doors 10/1 (2nd); ½ pt win Mr Big Shot 16/1; ¼ pt ew Dream Berry 28/1*; ¼ pt ew Discorama 40/1 (3rd)

Did I back the forecasts? The tricasts/trifectas?

Did I fvck.

* Turns out the stewards enquired into his running....

One today:

Midlands Nash: Billy Bronco 25/1

He’s entirely unexposed as a chaser, let alone at a trip like this and if his inexperience doesn’t hold him back he has the potential to prove very well handicapped.

I have to admit, as they turned for home I was thinking how far? Oh well. I had a wee flutter of excitement for a minute or two.

Sure that feeling of excitement is what it's all about! I'm going to go with me heart tomorrow and back firebird flyer to come back to form in the 17.00 at ffoslas. 25-1
