What are you backing Today?

The problem i have with a night out is that I never know when to go home - this leads to major lack of sleep - and a major disconnect from reality when punting like an ass the next day!!

Only saving grace is that if you get absolutely hammered and do things you were not supposed to, you get the fear the next day and lie on the couch covered by a duvet full of self loathing and despair!!!! I find I dont even have the will to turn on my phone which helps!:surrender:

I've had a mouse-sized nibble on Kastani Beach in the last at Tramore at 11/1 in the Paddy Power place only market.

His pedigree suggests he might prefer summer ground to the surface he encountered for his first three runs. In the last of those runs he ran free on heavy ground, so it's not surprising he didn't finish too well in what was a stronger looking race than tonight's. Barry Cash should be able to hold onto him better, and maybe he can improve enough to make the frame in a race where the principals don't look too progressive.

Taken 6.4 about Brown Panther in the Geoffrey Freer. It's fairly simple really, if he hadn't run in the German Derby on very deep ground he'd be clear favourite for this surely given where Census is in the market.

Would you be afraid it has taken much out of him??

A little maybe. But I think the positives - his run at Ascot, his pedigree (suggests he'll improve for the step up in trip and points to heaps of scope) outweigh the negatives.

Playtime again.

Ripon 3.30 Evens And Odds / Colonel Mak / Johannes
some kind of forecast perm.
Newbury 2.00 Rigoletto
Newbury 2.30 Leqqaa but a bit too short really need 4/1
Newbury 3.05 Brown Panther / Buthelezi
Newbury 3.40 Musir
Newmarket 3.20 Bertiewhittle

I give Dukes Art a good chance in the 2:00 @ Newbury. Back on a left handed track and dropped to 7F may see some improvement in him.

Hard days racing -good day for anyone with sky plus to record and watch it later.I wouldn't want to be punting away.

I'm just having some fun with some small e/way bets.

Delegator has been pulled out of the Hungerford because they know he's an overrated dog. Going my fat ass.

3:40 Excelebration / Dubawi Gold r/f/c

It does look like a two horse race but the prices on Betfair at the moment - 2.78 and 4.7 - are out of line for me.
Obviously Excelebration looked more impressive visually in the German Guineas than DG did at the Curragh, but I'm betting the form of the latter is better. The Hannon horse is worth a bet.

Pocket talking admittedly - but both my fancies today were given awful rides. The turd on Brown Panther looks as strong in a finish as a paper bag.

On the tilt on a Monday evening but Lady Bennett will get me out of jail in the fillies handicap tonight at 9/2 in Roscommon!!

I have and a good bet on glamorous tonight at Roscommon. I think the horse will appreciate the ground today.

Should not be betting today but cannot get away from Missile Command in the 6:00 at Sligo. Breaking the not betting in 45 -65 handicaps rule but this one has the best form in the race by some way - only having its fourth run of the season and is well drawn. The money for the Pat Flynn horse is holding the price at a very fair 9/2. Cannot see it out of the three.

Topadee is all the rage in a later handicap for the Flynn yard but cannot back her on this ground. Her action screams top of the ground (soft getting tacky at Sligo by all reports) and 14lbs penalty is enough to put me off.

Tarsille on the other hand has everything is his favour in the second claimer. His last three runs have been very poor but is thrown in on today's conditions. The 6/1 best price available is very poor value though so no bet.

E/way singles and e/way lucky 15

Mussel 2:15 Angel Of Hope - although beaten 3 times by the fav in the race the trainer has an excellent record at the track with 2yo's and a big weight pull with fav from when they met at this track. Also visored for the first time. 11/2

Brighton 2:30 Phillipstown - improved a lot from his first run l/t/o at Newmarket and you can never underestimate a Hannon 2yo, could well be in the mix. 14/1

Mussel 2:45 Highland Warrior - This old boy loves Musselburgh and a bit of soft in the ground. Always likely to pop up at a price on this track and going. 25/1

Mussel 5:15 Here Now And Why - Having his third run for trainer after a poor campaign in Ireland. Has been gambled on both his runs so far and this step up to 7f with cut should suit. On a very nice mark and is being backed again as I type. A winner waiting to happen imo. 5/1

Today I have pleasured myself with the following, all at that humid vale of York:
200 Shropshire ..... <grrr!>
230 Archbishop ..... <grrr!> just a show-dog <grrr!>
415 Sanad
450 Tiger Reigns

more like pleasured the bookie.

ever hopeful,
Yours

Soary.
