Harsh on everyone else when I forgot to post it on the forum though!

What the trainers say

ASTRAIOS (Yarmouth 4.20 p.m.)
"Oratorio colt stepped into claiming class last time at Kempton and after looking awkward at the back, produced a late run that would have brought victory with a little further to travel. Should win at this level and worth a small bet."

BREAKING THE BANK (Windsor 3:35pm ).
Finished runner-up to Right To Dream on second start over six at Windsor in June, beaten five lengths. Possibly better effort on fourth and latest outings when three and a half lengths fifth of 15 to Miblish over seven at Newbury September 17 when rated 73. Now 75.
"A horse I've always liked and I thought he did well to run so well over six at Windsor earlier in the season because that was too sharp which he showed at Newbury last time over seven. When he disappointed at Sandown he came back lame which has been sorted out. I'm going to get him into a nursery quite quickly because I think Miblish might be pretty good. There's plenty of potential in my horse. As good as I've got"

DRIFT AND DREAM (Yarmouth 3:15)
Reached 82 after two wins last season winning the latter of them off 76 over specialist five furlongs at Sandown. Not seen until August over same course and distance when well behind off 81 but much better only subsequent outing when four lengths seventh of 21 to Haajes over five at Doncaster September 7 off 80.
"She's had little problems early then wasn't right so I was desperate to get the first run of the season into her in August when it was too soft. It was slow enough for her last time at Doncaster. I am struggling to find a race over five but she is just coming good and I could look at the all weather when it might be six."

INTENSE PINK (Yarmouth 1:40)
Unraced
"I do like this filly and might go to Newbury on September 16 if I can't run her at Yarmouth. Nice."

Has had an outing finishing last in a class2 - ran very green I think much better will be expected today.

One from the book on Tuesday - not a great write up but for those of you interested in purchasing the book there follows a link.

4.50 - Violets Boy
Owned by Harry Redknapp, ran in a bumper showed a little promise, will continue in bumpers until eventually trying hurdles.

My thanks to Chris for supplying all the info :)

Computer was down at work so only just seen these - first one won and next one runs in the 4:30 - having missed the first one I will be leaving the next one alone as well. From the book on Wednesday curtesy of Chris

Wide Reciever - come from Charlie Mortlock and if there is improvement in him he can win afew low grade long distance chase.

Pampelonne - Was treated for ulcers when she came from Nicky Henderson and she has got over them now, started her novice career and will improve with outings over 2 and a half miles.

Good racing at Punchestown today and am looking at a 9/1 double in the first two - Mississippi River 3/1 and Steps to Freedom 6/4. MR is very highly thought of and is up against a Meade group horse on the flat. Looked to me that MR needed the run behind Rebel Fitz ( a horse I like a lot) the last day in Clonmel and a race like this is well within his compass. Threat here is Meaade's horse (his cat would win if enetered at the moment) who has group form on the flat and ran two decent races in better company last time. Mt gut tells me MR may have too much for him today.

On the other hand Steps to Freedom is a machine and 6/4 is huge!!

I was expecting Letter Of Credit to do better than third behind Rebel Fitz and Mississippi River in that Clonmel race, but he too was coming back from a break and he now wears a tongue strap. If he had breathing issues the last day they must have been minor enough because he wasn't beaten too far, and maybe the strap will be enough to help him do better today. The softer ground should also be in his favour. I suspect, however, that he will be best over a longer trip than today's minimum.

It's a fascinating race, good luck OTB.

POLARBROOK

Kim Bailey had another in the book in the race but has now been withdrawn.

Polarbrook was going to start in bumpers it says in the book, must of been showing alot more on the schooling to suggest going straight into jumping game

8/1

might be worth a small e/way

Both Shinrock Paddy and Rathlin are friendless in the next - neither might have been able to do much schooling with the way the ground has been... I really like both of these, with a slight preference for Shinrock Paddy as a horse but probably just one to watch.

The market spoke volumes there - both non-jiggers!!

It's very tough introducing novices first time against winners so I laid both, particulary with the short trip against Shinrock. I didn't see the race but I wouldn't be worried with either of them. morris' horses always improve for a run and shinrock will be a 3m chaser.

5.50 Catterick-Hurricane Thomas

E/W @ 10-1 [Boylesports] BOG

Well handicapped and runs well for inexperienced jockeys

At 4/1 I think Roddy's Book Em Danno has a fine chance in today's Listed novice hurdle at Kempton. He has a nice mixture of speed and stamina, has won over a similar track, and the form of his last race, in which five previous winners took part, has stood up well (2nd and 4th have won next time out).

His official rating of 124 is 4lbs below Rajnagan, the favourite, who ran up a sequence of wins in handicap hurdles, starting with a win at Uttoxeter at the end of May off only 77. I think that horse might now have reached the peak of its powers, however, while Danno, who was not a good jumper to start with, is probably still improving.

The main danger is probably Greylami, whose flat rating of 89 could give him a fighting chance here if normal rules of thumb for translating flat to jumps ratings are applied. His form on the flat has been in decline, however, which is usually a negative when horses switch to jumps.

Best of luck, Roddy

I think Australia Day could have himself on the deck, and have laid at 8/11.
Anyone watching him at Huntingdon can see he's a hair-raising ride, and not one to pile into for that reason, but I'll go on record now as saying that he could actually be very very good - if he doesn't break his neck, he strikes me as a likely winner of the Wayward Lad at Kempton, and capable of taking a Tingle Creek or Victor Chandler Chase in time.

I like Indigo River in the Birdcatcher at Naas. He did it very nicely on similar ground at Roscommon in what turned out to be a decent maiden. The handicapper has taken no chances and he is dropping in trip but the stable very rarely leave the money behind and this fella has been very lively since last night.

When will you learn to just bet the SlimChance (of losing) card....
