Interesting little teaser at Ffos Las 2:35 Novice chase, just three runners and all highly thought of 6/4 Fiddlerontheroof top ranked novice hurdler who has apparently schooled very well and said to be up there with the best novice jumpers the Tizzards have had. 15/8 Emitom, 2/1 classy hurdler and chase experienced after the one satisfactory run, Greatrix sees him up there with the best in terms of potential 2/1 If The Cap Fits. Grade 1 hurdler and if he could reproduce that over fences he’d be very difficult to beat.

Pay your money, take your choice or just watch with interest.

An interesting little race alright. Emitom wouldn’t have been helped by having to make his own running last time and he ended up setting it up for a fast finisher. It may be the same today although Fiddlerontheroof has made all before. If they take each other on that might just set it up for If The Cap Fits who was the best over hurdles. Probably a race to leave alone but Emitom would be my bet if forced.

In the 2.57 at Kempton the form of Mr Medic’s 2nd to a highly progressive sort at Exeter (giving 13lb) stands out IMO

Good luck. I'm betting Enfin Phil for trainer Micky Hammond in that race. I've put a line through the last run, Enfin Phil ran a couple of decent races here at Sedgefield and Catterick which give him an each way squeak. I'm not massively confident but 20/1 looked a price worth wagering at. :)
 
I didn't have a bet today, but if I had backed The Bomber Liston in the 4.30 at FL I would have been disappointed by the jockey's aptitude for finding horses arses to run in to.
 
Iconic Queen 1.45P was drawn wrong side in a valuable nursery at Newmarket, and would probably have won her side, had her neighbour not baulked her in the closing stages. Should appreciate this stiffer test, at a course where her trainer has a 45% strike rate.
13/2 B365 & Betfair.
 
Abate 4.20P was a close C&D 3rd on similar ground recently, but the effort required to get over from the inside rail probably cost him the race. Runs off the same mark today, but the draw has been a whole lot kinder.

Freyjia 3.20 Nm, blew home after making most in a well run, g/s Hamilton 1m contest. She was then outpaced, on quicker ground, around a sharp Musselburgh.
Her form, pedigree and action all point to her improving on those runs today.

Huge thank you. My account was rock bottom again and I'd pretty much decided I'd better not have any bets for a while as I don't want to go into a bookies to top it up and don't want to use my credit card in case I click the wrong button and deposit too much. But I had an ew on Freyjia and got back from mot'ing the car to find it had won. Because of that I had an ew on the Kirby horse in the bumper because I always back the Kirby horses and it came third at 100/1. In case anyone thinks I have a huge gambling problem I buy a £20 voucher from W Hills and it lasts me for years usually. But lockdown and then shielding means I'm having more bets than usual.

I've backed one today but it's actually running tomorrow. Scardura e/w 5 places @ 11/2 in the 3:35 Cheltenham.

At first glance On The Slopes and Rouge Vif stand out but on further examination the Mullholland trained Scardura catches the eye running on what seems to be his favoured good ground. He was an emphatic maiden hurdle winner on his stable debut 12 months ago and while he subsequently put in two modest efforts over hurdles the second of those runs at Leopardstown was pretty eye catching.

He looked like a chaser though and since being sent over fences he won well last time out, jumping well in the main if slightly right at times and travelling strongly before finding plenty at the line when challenged. The second that day runs at Ludlow today and receives a RP comment of "beaten by a very well handicapped rival".

Scardura won that off 127 on what was his third chase outing and runs off 135 today, which on the face of it looks about fair but 135 could still underestimate him because on his first run over fences run (unseated at the first in-between) back in July, he split Longhouse Sale and the re-opposing Beat The Judge who are now rated 147 and 142 respectively.

He's 1lb out of the handicap but Sam TD retains the ride off the minimum 10-0 and he looks sure to go well.

Tranchee is the one to beat in Doncaster 2.40, although I thought he didn't look 100 percent fluent the last day, I was surprised he ran so well given he was nudged along from some way out. I can see Dazzling Dan running a big race. He's for the most part underperformed this season, although he has been dropped nearly a stone in the weights as a result.

He won two class 2's last season off marks of 95 and 99 when racing prominently or making all. He's on a mark of 91 tomorrow, his last race was on heavy ground but encouragingly he tried to make all which is what he did when winning last season. I reckon that was a good sign for next start.

The 3.00 at Cheltenham is a wide open handicap where I like an angle on the Warren Greatrex trained Young Lieutenant, that he improved a fair amount after his wind operation and first time tongue tie was applied the last day. He can out run odds of 20/1 or thereabouts I'm hoping.

Uncannily close to my own thoughts on the race, wilsonl. I just haven't yet decided which of the three to back or leave it alone.
 
Additional 4.35 Nb was made too much use of in a hot Ascot h'cap, and had nothing in reserve for the closing stages. The drop in class, over this easier track, should make all the difference, tomorrow.

I like Beat the Judge for this race. Obviously held by Scardura on Stratford running but he’s improved more than that one since by my reckoning and can turn the form around
