    Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe

Troy, Generous, Montjeu....all have something in common! Sea the Stars was also odds-on.

    Craven Meeting

Really surprised by BHA's assessment of the meeting. Eminent is rated 3 pounds inferior to whitecliffsofdover now. Cant wait to see Tricorn on a racecourse again.

    July Meeting, Newmarket

Dry forecast for the whole week. I always thought Limato has got the ability needed to win a G1 sprint. He will have his conditions this week. 10's was very generous in my book and have been taken e/w

    Irish Flat Season 2016

Really rollercoster of emotions involved in this bet during the past 2 months. Massive day at the office today.

    Ante-Post - Flat 2016

Last year Meccas Angel was the outstanding ante-post bet of the year at York. I feel the same way about Quiet Reflection for the Commonwealth Cup. 5/1 is a great price.

    French Guineas

I think Found, Intello, Lush Lashes and Tapestry could have been very competitive in a Guineas in other circumstances, but I agree that The Gurkha looks better suited for the French Derby, although it wouldn't be a surprise if he stays further in the future.

    French Guineas

Relko was the last one, wasn't he? Looking at the pedigrees of some of the previous g1 winners by Galileo, I don't think the dams of Cape Blanco, Found, Intello, Lush Lashes, Red Rocks, Order of st George, Tapestry or Was added more stamina to their progeny than Chintz ( The Gurkha ) or Lillie...

    Irish Flat Season 2016

I disagree Gus. I think with better ground and more distance Harzand would always finish ahead of Idaho. He has been given an OR of 110 and I think he will finally run at Epsom. 25/1 e/w has been taken. There are many horses I don't fancy for the Derby at the top of most bookies list for the...

    Irish Flat Season 2016

Wajeez hasn't been entered in the Dante. As promising as he is, I am pretty sure he won't be as his best until the second half of the season.

    Betfair premium charges

I have received an email from them saying that "last week, for the first time, you would have been required to pay Premium Charges. However, in line with our policy for customers that incur the charge for the first time, last week's Premium Charges have been refunded" Let's say I don't have any...

Art dealer Wildenstein accused of huge French tax fraud

Opening proceedings began Monday in Paris in the trial of international art dealer Guy Wildenstein, who is facing charges of tax fraud and money laundering. The Associated Pressreports that Wildenstein is accused of concealing much of his inherited fortune in various trusts held in “offshore tax...

Quizz : best Timeform rating on debut by a 2-y-o

Wajeez has been given a 109p rating by Timeform. I had to rescue this thread as I managed to buy 40% of his dam Chanter recently and I am too excited to keep it to myself !!!

    Breeders Cup 2015

This is a massive blow for the race, not only because she was there with an excellent chance, but also because she was the one to put pressure on the early lead to AP. There are many closers in the race and not many leaders and other than Smooth Roller, it is hard to see anybody challenging the...

Road to the Arc de Triomphe

Treve hung again today across the track. In fact I am surprised she wasn't dq'ed as she was responsible to almost bringing Dolniya down. In my opinion she has always had physical problems and having that in mind I truly respect her achievements.

Road to the Arc de Triomphe

On OR she is not, is she? New Bay is rated 11 pounds lower than Golden Horn. I think we all respect Fabre but I am not sure a horse like NB can beat Treve and GH.

Road to the Arc de Triomphe

Only seven horses have managed to win the Arc twice: Ksar, Motrico, Corrida, Tantieme, Ribot, Alleged and Treve. Before achieving the double Motrico finished 4th as a 3-year-old and Corrida finished third in 1935 as a 3-year-old too.

    Arlington

Some of the things I am reading about this are infuriating me. They go to USA because the level of grass races are lower than in Europe. Nothing wrong with that, but they knew American rules. What Spencer did is not allowed over there and he was over smarted. Take it on the chin and move on...

    King George (flat version)

Are we not being too critical about the race? After all, with different going, we could have seen the best 3-y-o colt against a very good G1 horse in Flintshire and some other top up-and-coming mature horses. GH beating F would have been a key form reference this season, sadly it wasn't to be...
