There's an election coming..

Hmmm, if you've seen the news about London, the talk is not merely about a 'handful of fatal stabbings', Simmo.

I picked up the word epidemic from Question Time last night.

The so-called epidemic is only becoming front page news as the capital of England is being affected. It's been rife for years elsewhere (and probably in London too for that matter).

It's a storm in a teacup.

It's clearly related to escalating drug wars and gang violence, Simmo.

Dealers and gangs in the capital are using children to export their drugs all over the country - probably to middle class suburbs, including in places like Scotland, to facilitate the drugs habits of often other children and teenagers, probably during the six week holidays or when the next music festival is on....

Without sounding like sort some of Met Police Officer, (which I'm clearly not), the situation sounds very bad.

Anyone who can't see this either has their heads firmly buried in the sand or the form book for Cheltenham next week.:)

Or up their own arses even? :)

I've been threatened with stabbing a few times and I can't say it struck me that the world was coming to an end and something needed done about it.

Bet that the 'threatener' thought differently when you shoved his bread knife up his orifice.

Funnily enough in one of the instances the driver of a van who I had pumped my horn at for pulling out right in front of me forced me to stop in the road then came round and punched me a little bit - when I started laughing and said "right then, let's go" he started running away, shouting at his son to get his hammer from the van and that he was going to "cut" me.

I told him he'd need to stop running away like a little girl first.

As a good example of how London centric the news has become - this afternoon there was an incident involving armed police in Glasgow.

Not a sausage on any news channel outside Scotland.

If that had been in London we'd be getting endless analysis about how gun crime was on the rise and/or was it terror related.

Although I've got history, friends and memory's of London, (I was there last week), I agree about the London Centric, 'come and join us in the centre of the universe' news, etc. However, I'd argue that there is a violent surge in crime, not just in London but in places like Birmingham and Manchester too, and that you are conflating two slightly different issues here, Simmo.

Fair enough, it's all about opinions. I reckon it's just being overinflated by a London centric media personally but each to their own and all that!!

It reminds me a bit of the Yorkshire ripper case, when it only seemed to be taken seriously when a 'nice' girl was murdered by him. I've been reading for months about the increase in knife crime/deaths, but it has only been the deaths of these two students that has sparked a public outcry and resulted in a response from the government. And has also given the police carte blanche [at last] to openly criticise the government [and it's previous Home Secretary].

I see on thirsday three of the questions put forwards were by tory activists, unbelievable one of them some wierdo
wanted owen jones to apologize for west midlands polivce forece ffs:lol: was he on drugs and there is another on twitter pictured with sajid javid. When are they going to sack this fueller woman the bias is unbelievable, every single week tory plants, activists getting to asj the question and then the boos and jeers from pro tory audiences some in strong labour seats..It's just completely rigged...

And it's all pointing to the election as thread OP suggested,as soon as mays vote gets voted down next week an extension then election in summer....

What's not to like about that :ninja:

There was nothing to apologize for the bloke was talking absolute garbage no one knew what the hell he was talking about looked like he'd just been released from an institute as were the other three tory plants again put in the audience, the agenda is set..

Look down at the link to the tory activists, there's a clip showing 4 members of audience asking questions from thursday, three of them were running as mps pictured with hammond and javid programmes completely corrupt..get used to it there;'s going to be a lot more...when are people going to wake up its been obvious from first episode..

Total going up 5 tory activists allowed to ask questions just gets worse ad worse, basically the tory show apparently one labour activist was in the audience nevrr got to ask a question, this is more like a dictatorship welcome to brexit tory britain everyone..

Newport west by election i took 9s on labour getting between 30-40% then took 6s has now been cut to 5s price still looks ok to me lots of local issues which the grren party and conservatives have focused on,labour won't be getting much over 40% on national polls if these local issues pay out,the 1/6 is a crazy price there is a chance could be little in it....

Got my clipboard out and ticking off hpow many tory activists are in the audience that get to ask leading questions just the 5 last week, this is a remain seat as well so interesting to ee if this rancid fueller woman who directs the programme has managed to rig the audience again..
